Learning More About Our City
July 15, 2008
I am an advocate for strong neighborhood leadership that can address issues of concern with appropriate staff at Columbia City Hall. To this end I arranged a workshop for District 3 neighborhood presidents to make certain that our local leaders know about our various city programs and staff.
This workshop was organized by City Manager Charles Austin and provided an overview of city operations. Representatives from 10 different neighborhood associations attended and learned about operations and programs affecting neighborhood life ranging from code enforcement to traffic and public safety to animal control. City staff, including Manager Austin, encouraged neighborhood leaders to contact them directly to discuss issues of concern. Among the areas most frequently contacted are the following:
Code Enforcement:
Mr. Marc Mylott - msmylott@columbiasc.net
Streets/Garbage Collection:
Ms. Melissa Gentry - msgentry@columbiasc.net
