Columbia City Council candidates campaigning for April

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - With the presidential primaries out of the way, candidates for Columbia City Council are rolling out their campaigns for the April election.

In the race for the District Three seat, which covers the Five Points, Shandon and parts of Two Notch Road areas are Brian Boyer, a developer and Army veteran; Belinda Gergel, past president of the Historic Columbia Foundation and retired history professor from Columbia College; and Reed Swearingen, president of a real estate investment and management company.

The District Three seat is being vacated by Anne Sinclair.

One of the at-large seats is also being contested. Cameron Runyan, the director of development for Richland County Court Appointed Special Advocates, is running against incumbent and restaurant owner Daniel Rickenmann.
