Proceeds from the Tour, which is sponsored by the Shandon Neighborhood Council and the Hollywood-Rose Hill Neighborhood Association will benefit the neighborhoods' four Richland One schools as well as other neighborhood projects. The tour will take place from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday, December 7th. Advance tickets are $15 and will be available after November 15th at Piggly Wiggly on Devine and Forest Drive, Britton's, Golf Headquarters, Just the Thing, and Yesterdays. Five Points Festivus
Don't miss the fun and festivities at the Five Points Festivus celebration this weekend. There will be a parade at 6 pm Friday with MLK-Lower Waverly's legendary neighborhood president Durham Carter as the Grand Marshall, followed by "shop and stroll" events and a pub crawl. Santa will visit on Saturday from 3-5 at the landmark Five Points Fountain. For more information see www.fivepointscolumbia.com.
The Historic Columbia Foundation's annual "Candlelight Tours" will be held this Friday and Saturday evening and features the Foundation's properties in the Robert Mills Historic District in the heart of town, including the Robert Mills House, the Hampton-Preston Mansion, and the Mann-Simons Cottage. Each of the houses tells the story of holiday celebrations for residents of an earlier part of our city's history and the evening is perfect for family and friends. For more information contact the Foundation at 252-1770 or www.historiccolumbia.org.
A Devine Evening
The annual shopping event for Devine Street begins this Thursday at 5:00 pm. Festive foods and drinks will be offered at various shops, and the Christmas Tree Lighting will be at 6:00 pm at the Devine Street Fire Station. Some of the proceeds will benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank.
